The regional qualifiers for the final Major of the Dota 2

Pro Circuit 2019 season have been underway for the past few days and a few

teams have already emerged to represent their regions at EPICENTER.

  TNC are back

While EPICENTER is still a month away, qualifiers are

extremely heated – especially as this is the final chance for teams to make

their way into The International 2019 via DPC points. For Southeast Asia it was

TNC Predator that surprisingly clinched the top seed for the region, beating

out the likes of Fnatic, BOOM ID and Mineski to reach the top. Oddly enough,

TNC did drop one game through the group stage and it was to an unlikely Geek

Fam. With TNC taking the first spot, the SEA region now only has one direct

invite into the Major available as the qualifiers will wrap up over the

  weekend.

With Lee ‘Heen’ Seung Gon as their coach, TNC look primed to

take to the Major in fine form – and this could be what they need to secure a

  TI9 spot.

  The China surprise

The Chinese Dota 2 region has been a hotly contested field this season with the likes of Vici Gaming, PSG.LGD, Keen Gaming and EHOME all putting their foot forward to be the best in the region. But the group stages of the qualifiers for EPICENTER have so far showed some “new” names at the top – definitely not new, but one’s that we’ve not seen for some time. Newbee and Royal Never Give Up have both step forward in the initial stages of the qualifiers – but unfortunately for both, PSG.LGD were on form again as they rushed off into the sunset at the top of the group. This sends last year’s TI-runner’s up straight to EPICENTER while the rest fight it out for the final two spots for the region.

Surprisingly, EHOME, with Zhang ‘Faith_bian’ Ruida now back

on the squad, were unable to perform at all, losing nearly every game they

played. But we’ve seen EHOME’s resilience before and they’re sure to try their

  hand at the Minor instead.

The weekend will bring us a fair amount of EPICENTER

regional qualifiers as we work our way down the winding path to the final Minor

and Major of this DPC season and The International 2019.
